Mild black Chinese tea with a fine, aromatic taste and reddish colour. Contains almost no tannic acid, and therefore does not become bitter.

The aroma of Keemun is fruity with hints of pine, dried plum, and flowers (but not as floral as Darjeeling tea), which creates a very distinctive and well-balanced character. The tea also has a hint of orchid scent and the so-called "China tea sweetness". Keemun can sometimes have a slightly smoky taste, which can be more or less pronounced, depending on the variety and how the tea is processed. Keemun contains almost no tannic acid and therefore does not become bitter.
In China, Keemun is typically drunk without milk or sugar.
