Japanese large leaf green tea. Bancha has a strong organic and characteristic grassy scent, as well as a strong pleasant taste. In Japan, this tea is often drunk with food and can therefore rightly be called the everyday tea of the Japanese. Bancha contains very little caffeine. Bancha in Japanese means late harvest, and the tea has been named Bancha, as Bancha, which is actually a sencha, is harvested later in the year than the named Sencha qualities. Soak for 2-3 minutes in 75-80 degree hot water.
